I'd like to start making (asembling) my own trolling spoons. I know from experince with spinner making that all components are not created equal. does anyone know of a good company to order spoon blanks from? I'm not quite sure what to look for as far as gauge and shapes are concerned, I know that nickel and brass don't have near the reflective properties of genuine siler and gold.

I can not speak of their quality but I know that http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/ and http://lurepartsonline.com/ has trolling spoon blanks. Lure Parts Online lists that their spoons are genuine gold and sterling silver.

Try a web search for stamina tackle. They offer trolling spoons blanks in many sizes and colors.

I thought about it myself because next year I want to try with just 5 colors of spoons.

You can also try Howie's tackle.

They sell various models of Mauler blanks (and tape as well). Mauler is a pretty 'generic' blank but the standard size seems to me to be the exact blank that Moonshine uses for their small spoons. just saying that the action has at least been proven to work in regard to Moonshine's effectiveness.

Mike Steffies at Warrior will sell blanks or if you have a pattern in mind he will custom paint anything you want.

So I got curious about the blanks and started googling and needless to say $180 later I have paint and blanks on the way.

I believe when I last spoke with Mike, he told me his minimum order for custom painting is very low.
