The plan was for me and Twked to meet up with our buddy boat for the day (salmonalogist) at northpoint. Northpoint did not open until 9am so we headed down to waukegan. While launching a boat was coming in and said 4+ foot waves were out there and they were calling the day a bust. Needless to say I figured this would be a prime opportunity to test out the new autopilot. Salmonalogist and I took our boats out of the harbor and were greeted by 3 footers. We headed east and the waves continued to built. a mile or two out Salmonalogist decided to head back to the harbor so we kept east alone. We set lines in 85fow and went east to 128fow. waves were 3-5's and the autopilot handled them with no problem except for if we were going into the waves if were going under 2.8mph it started to have trouble but any other direction we could get down to 1.9 with no problems. No takers out there so we headed back west. in big waves my boat really has a hard time hooking up with fish. It had been a few hours at this point and the lake was starting to lay down. Got a call from Salmonalogist and he was at the dock and ready to head back out now that the conditions were better. It was like 2-3' rollers. we got into 95fow and got 2 kings on. we came around and picked up a laker than back again and another laker. By this point the waves were building again and that was it for fish. 4 for 4. good size lakers and average king and a zippy. all taken 55-65 down off riggers and dipsy. riverside stripper spoon and green/chrome flasher green fly took the fish. There was a large barge about 2 miles further offshore that was throwing up a spray over 30' hitting the waves so twked and I decided to headed out for a closeup. halfway there we saw salmonalogist coming in and the waves now were 5+. I think at one point we went over at least a 9 footer because the boat was strait up and down and half the outboard was buried in the water. the barge was moving faster than we thought so catching it wasn't going to happen. we ended up turning and ran back in along side salmonalogist.

Here are some pics of the day. Somehow I ended up with no pictures of the fish but I think Twked got one.
I LOVE AUTOPILOT :D

What a day! I’m glad it all ended up O.K., because it didn’t start that way. I remembered last knight that there was no antifreeze in the boat’s engine, so I had to get up at 10:30 at knight and fill up the engine with marine antifreeze. However there was a little obstacle - hoses got frozen water in them, so I had to defrost them with a hear drier before poor the antifreeze. That was part of the fun I guess. And fun we had! Lots of excitement and the best part - we got back in one peace! Alleluia brother! We got to do it again!

Sure you can wsj! Al you have to do is call 1-800 - HTR, or TWEKD agency - operators are on stand by.

Some people like surfing the big ones- guess you fellas like to do some "surfing" and snag a few fish while doing it. I liked what Salomonologist said for late season surfing er, fishing, call 1-800 HTR or TWEKD agency! :rotflmao

You could have been there. I called you the night before. O well there is always next time. There is still plenty of time to fish this year.

Looks fun guys!

HTR, glad to hear that your autopilot is working well. Should make things much easier for the Summertime Sundown Big King Fire Drill. ("SSBKFD").

Warner brothers has nothing on us! It was fun filming the videos. I hope to see more people add videos to the site.

That video is hilarious! I was planning on buying a radar for the boat next year, but now that I saw your video I would rather buy a camcorder with an image stabilizer and take the fishing testimonials to a new level. You guys rock!
