I have a single prop boat and I agree with Jerry:I need to use two bags to stabilize the boat. I have two smaller bags and I use the straps at the back end of the bags to retrieve them. It make sit real easy. I lengthened the front straps so I could get the back of the bags to set just near the transom , because when l first set the bags up they would deflate and come partly out of the water. So I put a cleat where I wanted it so the front line makes a shallower angle to the water and the bags do not deflate. I also sewed lead tire weights into half of the front, thereby weighting it with a heavy side. My boat is a 22 ft Starcraft Islander and the bags will slow it down 1.0 mph. Using the two bags really makes it easier to stabilize the boat, especially into a quartering sea. BTW most of our fish came in the top 35 ft last year regardless of the FOW depth. The cool water stayed shallow much of the year. You cant always count on that. We just have to ask fish questions and see how they answer. When they are hungry they will chase bait a long way up, but not down.
