The next monthly meeting of Salmon Unlimited Illinois will be held Tuesday, January 11th, at 7:30pm.

Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Elk Grove Village VFW hall.
The VFW Hall is located at 400 E. Devon Ave., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.

Meetings are open to the public and FREE. Everyone is welcome.

Our guest speaker this month will be Greg Ellison, sales manager for Traxstech. If you are considering a track system for your boat, or just want to see what’s new in rodholders, this is your opportunity. Traxstech also now owns the Vector downrigger product line, so we hope to learn what plans they have for those. This should be a very educational presentation.

Refreshments are available and a raffle will be held.

Hope to see ya there.

Jerry

Hello all.

I just wanted to say that for those who have not yet decided to join Salmon Unlimited of IL, this is a great opportunity to come out and see what the club is all about. Plenty of great people, wonderful discussions regarding timely tactics and techniques to deploy for our Great Lakes fishery and many fishing related activities throughout the year.

Meeting are FREE to attend, so I hope to see plenty there.

Thanks all.

Looks like snow tomorrow, a few inches, and therefore I was wondering if the meeting ever gets cancelled or if the Hall will be open regardless?

I'd hate to make the drive if no one is there.

Thanks.

Never say never, but we've had meetings in alot worse than a few inches of snow. To my knowledge, we've not had to cancel one in the 10+ years that I've been a member. Hope to see you there.

Dear PMJASPER,

I would like to meet you. I am the Hook and Line Editor, Bill. If you come to the next meeting, come up and introduce yourself. I usually do a Hook and Line Report. I want to thank you for that nice article you wrote a few issues ago about setting up a small boat for Lake Michigan.

I'm going to try my best to make it tomorrow. I only asked about the meeting because I didn't know if someone representing the hall had to be there to open or lock it up. I figured, bad weather might have them close early but if you guys say you'll be there I'm going to try as well.

Thanks.

Slight change, the speaker will be Jeff Miller, the owner of Traxstech, same subjects. He contacted me yesterday afternoon to say he was coming himself.

Great meeting last night!!!

This was the first time I was able to make a meeting and it really was enjoyable and informative. Where else can you get first hand information from those who are actually making the product, helping with our fisheries (DNR), and fishing the waters we love?

Looks like a great lineup for future speakers in the next coming months as well.

If you're interested in Salmon Unlimited, but just not sure if it's for you, come out to a meeting and see what we are all about. It's not just a boater's club but rather a gathering of anglers at many different levels of the sport (beginners, intermediate and experts) to make our sport and fisheries more enjoyable for all.

I ended up ice fishing all day with Geo and based on road conditions doubling the drive time from Wauconda to Zion and seeing as many cars in the ditch as I did, I'm kinda glad I didn't make the drive down there.
